The Shonan Trend Culture

Shonandai Culture Center

In every school area, the Community Children’s Houses were built for children to play freely and safely especially after school. The Yatsugatake Outdoor Life Class, which opened in 1992 for citizens to experience group life with enjoying nature, is popular spot for children.

Akibadai Culture and Gymnastics Hall

As a base for cultural creation, the Citizen’s Hall, the Central City Library, the Akibadai Culture and Gymnastic Hall, and the Shonandai Cultural Center were constructed. All these facilities aim to elevate citizens’ sense of autonomy and creative power in order to achieve an affluent and humane life style unique to the Shonan trend culture.
